Glasgow

Based on the west coast of Scotland, Glasgow is one of Europe’s most lively and attractive cities.  With an impressive array of cultural, artistic and historic institutions all situated within a fascinating architectural landscape, Glasgow is a favourite destination for visitors from around the world.

The city is also regarded as one of the best shopping areas in the UK, packed with a wide range of retail outlets, from designer names to independent boutiques, all situated within short walking distances.  There is also an abundance of bars and restaurants serving local and international cuisine.

The diversity of Glasgow and the impressive range of sporting facilities available resulted in the city being awarded the right to host the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

The west coast of Scotland is known for its milder temperatures but it can be wet and windy. The weather in May is often changeable as the month marks the transition from spring to summer seasons. Average temperatures are expected to range between lows of 4°C and highs of 15°C. Glasgow can be gloriously sunny at that time of year but it is always wise to pack a warm sweater and raincoat or umbrella.
